Even though Aretha Franklin was not born in Michigan, we claim her as our own. Now, her family is asking for prayers as she now is back home the hospital and is in the care of Hospice.
Aretha Franklin was born to a Minister and gospel singer in Memphis in March of 1942. A very gifted musician, she is a self taught pianist who learned to play without reading music. Ms Franklin ended up studying classical piano at Julliard School of Music. Aretha’s voice, well it is hard to compare with anyone she has a four-octave vocal range.
Aretha Franklin has always been a very private person, she would rarely discuss her personal life. Now her professional life is something else. The 'Queen of Soul' has 44 Grammy nominations and 18 wins, with ten of those wins for Best R&B Vocal Performances, and she has sang at the inaugurations of 3 presidents.
