This weekend heralded the opening of beaches all over Michigan.  We did see a lot of rain that raised the levels, but that can come with problems.  WLNS Channel 6 reports that raw sewage made it's way into the Shiawassee River, but tests for E. Coli have shown that the river is safe for canoeing and kayaking but not for full body contact.  Click here to get info on Mybeachcast...an app for your phone that lets you know if there any advisories from the health department or swim alerts, plus you will get the weather conditions at the beach your planning to visit.  Now we are armed with the information...Let's hit the beaches!
