Michigan’s Top Three Christmas Candies
It's Christmas time in the city and you know what that means, it's time to bring out the candy canes and all the other holiday candy we've learned to enjoy over the years.
Did you know that over 1 billion candy canes are produced every year just for the holiday season? Would you consider candy canes as the best or worst treat for the holidays?
Neither for me. I don't love candy canes by any means. So how do Michiganders feel about candy canes? Before we give you the answer, let's break down the candy cane survey.
According to mlive.com:
Well, it’s a bit of a tossup, according to a survey by CandyStore.com, a bulk online candy store. It’s the favorite Christmas candy in two states (Louisiana and Oregon) and in the top three of 25 states. At the same time, non-peppermint candy canes come in at No. 5 on the Top 10 Worst Christmas Candy list and peppermint candy canes are an honorable mention.
What are Michigan's top three Christmas candies?
How about Peppermint Bark, followed by Reindeer Corn, and Reese's Cup Mints. Sound good?
Interestingly, two of Michigan’s favorites also show up on the list of worst holiday candy. Peppermint bark comes in at No. 9 and reindeer corn is No. 2. Peppermint bark is also the No. 1 loved Christmas candy in eight states and in the top three in 20 states. Reindeer corn is the No. 1 candy in just one state (Alabama) and ranks in the top three in 15 states.
Did you know that over 90% of people send gifts of chocolate and candy during the holiday season? Send all the chocolate and Christmas cookies you can if that's not asking too much? And a little left over candy would be nice too. Happy Holidays!
