A 66 foot spruce from the western Upper Peninsula has been delivered to the Capitol to serve as this year's state Christmas tree.  The tree was dropped off and set in place Saturday morning in Lansing.

The spruce is from Wakefield, east of Ironwood, and has been donated by Florence Daniels in memory of her late husband, Jim Daniels.  He was a teacher, coach and U.P. Sports Hall of Fame inductee.

A tree lighting and fireworks display are scheduled for Nov. 20 at Lansing's Silver Bells in the City celebration.  The tree is Michigan's 30th official Christmas tree.
