October 6th through October 12th is Mental Awareness Week. NAMI Lansing, (National Alliance on Mental Health) has several events taking place this week.

Events such as Faith and Mental Health, Music for Minds, Healing through Art, and MSU events as well.

According to NamiLansing.org, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. Metal illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends or coworkers.

During the first week of October, NAMI and participants across the country raise awareness of mental illness.

Mental Illness Awareness Week provides a dedicated time for mental health advocates across the country to come together as one unified voice.

Kevin Keeler from NAMI Lansing recently joined us in the WFMK studio to talk about Mental Awareness Week. Please take a listen to the WFMK morning show interview.
