According the Detroit Free Press:

Meijer is giving a peek at what awaits customers at its new River Town Market in Detroit including featuring a second spot for the beloved Mudgie's Deli, a Great Lakes Coffee shop and local artisan products such as Pietrzyk Pierogi.

Rivertown Market will definitely pull in the patrons not only from the Detroit area, but surrounding areas as well including Lansing and Jackson.

It seems like the only time I get a chance to take a trip to Detroit is when I'm driving to Comerica Park to watch a Tigers game or just checking out new restaurants in the Detroit area.

Now that my wife and I know about Mudgie's Deli and Great Lakes Coffee shop, we have another great reason to make the drive to enjoy this new Detroit store.

The Detroit Free Press  also tells us:

The Grand Rapids-based retailer also formally announced on Thursday that Marcus Reliford will lead and oversee Rivertown Market, Meijer's fourth small-format store expecting to open later this year in Detroit.

The store is located at 1475 E. Jefferson Avenue and we're talking a 42,000 square foot store.

The Detroit Free Press later in the article adds:

Rivertown Market will focus on a different shopping experience, similar to Meijer's three other smaller-format stores:  Bridge Street Market in Grand Rapids, Woodward Corner Market in Royal Oak, and Capital City Market in downtown Lansing.

I can't wait to check out Mudgie's Deli. There's nothing better than freshly prepared daily foods along with delicious baked goods.

Here's more good news to add, the store is expected to hire at least 60 people.
