The movie "Mary Poppins" marks its 50th anniversary today.   Mary Poppins was one of the first movies I've ever seen on the big screen.

My mom took me to see this classic movie in downtown Lansing at the old Michigan Theater.  I remember how excited we were to see one of the best movies out there, "Mary Poppins."

I loved watching Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews and thought their chemistry together was flawless.

And let's not forget about one of the most fun songs featured in Mary Poppins.  Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down sung by Julie Andrews.

Of course when I was a kid, I fell in love with Julie Andrews and the ever popular "spoonful of sugar" song.

I remember after the movie, my mom and I couldn't stop singing that song.  By the way, "Mary Poppins" lifetime gross:  $102,272,727.
