Film Footage of Mackinac Bridge Construction
Here's an old film released in 1958, showing construction of the Mackinac Bridge, which was opened to the public on November 1, 1957.
It also shows the endless lines of cars that used to have to wait for the ferry to take them from the lower to the upper peninsula.
Narrated and hosted by Lowell Thomas, this is yet another interesting piece of Michigan history!
