Straight outta the olden days of the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's comes a roadside stand that harkens back to the days when little roadside stops were unique.

The one I wanna bring attention to here is "King Kone", an ice cream stand that is shaped like a huge ice cream cone! This 'cool' little stop is located on M-52 in Perry, on the south end of town.

Almost 100 years ago, some little roadside food stands built their establishments to look like the food they specialized in. You'd see eateries shaped like hot dogs, ice cream cones, tamales, burgers, milk bottles, clam shells, chicken, bowl of chili, fruit, doughnuts, submarine sandwiches and more.

King Kone brings back those thrilling days of yesteryear, and all you have to do is stop and enjoy it. Take a drive to Perry, enjoy some ice cream at King Kone and get a photo of the kool King Kone konstruction. It makes a great (and refreshing) addition to your Michigan roadtrip!

GET OVER THERE ASAP...THEY'LL BE CLOSING FOR THE SEASON SOON!

Ain't Michigan great?
