Hawk Island Park’s Memorial in the Woods
Back in the woods off the walking trail at Lansing's Hawk Island Park, is something that makes people stop in their tracks.
It's a memorial.
The signs “R.I.P. Johnny” and “Johnny's Fishing Hole” mark this spot, not far from the banks of Sycamore Creek. Around the area are mementos and trinkets left by those who knew “Johnny” and even by others who never knew him.
It's not unusual for strangers to leave their own little keepsakes here in “Johnny's” memory...you may have even left something yourself. Who is “Johnny”? Only a select number of people know his identity.
Take a look at the photos below and see for yourself.
I hope it's still there...
Hawk Island Park is located at 1601 E Cavanaugh Road.
