Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels star in Dumb and Dumber To

The critics are saying "Dumb and Dumber to" is nasty and nastier in its reincarnation.  We last saw the intelligence challenged duo of Lloyd and Harry 20 years ago, and the intervening years have made them neither wiser, nor funnier for this lame sequel.

Critics also say that they seem meaner, lewder and crasser.  Whatever was lovable about them has dried up, their brainless boyishness having given way to nasty nattering.

Enough about the critics.  To update, Lloyd has spent the past 20 years in a psychiatric hospital, for a practical joke.  Harry retaliates by yanking out his catheter.

The story centers on Harry believing he has a daughter.  He has just found out he needs a kidney transplant and hopes the 22 year old daughter he never knew he had might want to donate one of hers.

Daniels and Carrey give it their all in "Dumb and Dumber To" in theaters this weekend!
