While riding her scooter, the 15-year-old was shot and killed in downtown Grand Rapids on Saturday, May 18th.

This tragedy happened between the two structures downtown: the building near Studio Park at 180 Ottawa Avenue SW and the parking garage.

Since the time of her murder, the Grand Rapids Police Department has not arrested anyone or publicly named anyone as a suspect.

Grand Rapids Police Department Chief Eric Winstrom shared the six-second surveillance video that shows five young people in the area of the murder on the same evening of May 18th.

Winstrom states that the young people are as young as 12 years old.

To watch the surveillance video, you can check it out from our friends at Fox 17.

Winstrom and the GRPD are hopeful that the young people or their legal guardians will come in to speak with detectives.

If you or anyone you know has any information about La'Kyijah Williams' death, you are asked to contact GRPD at 616-456-3400.

According to Chief Winstrom, detectives are ready to start the interviews by Monday evening.

For those who would rather remain anonymous, you can submit your relevant information through Silent Observer.

I pray and hope that we find out who would kill an innocent child.

Long Live La'Kyijah Williams!

If you would like to send your love and prayers to the Williams family, there is a wake for La'Kyijah Williams on Saturday, June 8 at Resurrection Life Church from 11 am-12 PM.
