You know Santa travels at speeds faster than any vehicle on Earth. Well, that's in his sleigh, of course. When Santa drives a normal car like everyone else around Michigan, he must follow laws like the rest of us.

Did Santa really get pulled over in Metro Detroit by Michigan State Police?

  • A few days before Christmas, Santa was apparently running errands around Metro Detroit. It appears he was reading a list (not sure if it was the "naughty," "nice," or "honey-do" from Mrs. Claus) and not paying attention to what's in front of him.

Why wasn't Santa paying attention when he was pulled over by MSP in Metro Detroit?

  • This is pure speculation, but I'm guessing Santa doesn't have modern technology like Apple Car Play or Android Auto in his sleigh. He probably didn't know an automated voice assistant could read his lists to him or even offer turn-by-turn directions. It's likely Rudolph, and the other eight reindeer, navigate present deliveries all around the world while Santa acts more like a passenger taking in the scenery.

What does Santa drive when he doesn't use his sleigh and reindeer?

  • It appears, based on the above picture, a Volkswagen. And thankfully, the airbags kept him safe. Must have been moving along at a decent clip.

Here's to hoping Mrs. Claus gave Santa driver's training lessons for Christmas.
