Deep dish, thin crust, Detroit-style, no matter your preference, we can all agree there's nothing better than a great slice of pizza. Pizza always seems to land on the list of our favorite foods, and why not?

Pizza places are found just about every corner across the U.S. so you would think it would be next to impossible to narrow it down to the best each state has to offer, but it's been done, folks. Reader's Digest has compiled a tasty list of The Best Pizza in Every State as a guide for your pizza-craving taste buds.

"We’ve done the detective work to find the best pizza in every state, using a combination of local knowledge, sales figures, rave reviews, and simply following our noses", RD said. "A list of the most iconic state foods might turn out 50 different dishes, but the quest to find the best pizza in the U.S. means exploring the full potential of the humble pizza pie. Get ready to plan your next food-themed road trip, because this is the best pizza in every state."

Who Has the Best Pizza in Michigan?

For the best pie in Michigan, you'll need to head to Grand Rapids where they rely on a family recipe to deliver the best pizza in Michigan. Licari’s Sicilian Pizza Kitchen was the overall pick by RD for the Best Pizza in Michigan. Here's what they had to say;

"Mama mia! This authentic Italian eatery in Grand Rapids uses a family-secret recipe straight from Sicily to make its dense, doughy pies. Order the “Sfinciuni Pizze”—this half-sheet-pan-sized pizza is what foodie’s dreams are made of, with a sweet sauce and big chunks of aged Parmigiano Reggiano. BRB, looking up flights to Michigan…"

I took a little look at their menu, and I've got to say the selection is pretty incredible. The Capricciosa pizza, with Prosciutto di Parma, tomato, mushroom, fresh mozzarella & basil, caught my eye. Looks like a road trip may be soon for some "research".
