In a new list compiled by Explore, the largest mansions in America were ranked, and it's a mindblowing list, to say the least. These are places that were and are homes built with the finest of details and craftmanship to become architectural works of art.  "The Biggest Mansions in America" list sought out the top 25 massive estates across the nation looking at overall size for ranking.

Michigan's majestic landscape holds a gem among gems being home to one of the top 10 largest mansions in the entire country. Nestled amidst the stunning scenery of the Great Lakes State, this architectural wonder stands as a testament to grandeur and opulence.

Taking the #10 spot on the list of The Biggest Mansions in America is Michigan's Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan. Although not a private residence any longer, the estate is one the grandest in the country. Meadow Brook was built for Matilda Dodge Wilson, the widow of Dodge motor car company founder John Francis Dodge, in the 1920s.

Meadow Brook secured its spot on the list by having 88,000 square feet of space with 110 rooms on the estate's 1,500 acres of property. In 1957, Matilda and her second husband, lumber broker Alfred Wilson made a gift of the entire Meadow Brook Estate and $2 million in cash, a value estimated at $10 million, to what is now Oakland University.
