Lansing’s Old Rite Aid Near Frandor Will Soon House Six New Businesses
It's been over a year since Rite Aid shuttered all of its Michigan locations, including the one on East Saginaw Street near Frandor in Lansing. Now, this former Rite Aid is getting new life.
New Businesses Coming to Lansing
What used to be a single pharmacy will now house multiple businesses. The former pharmacy is set up to receive six new tenants. At this time, four businesses have already signed leases to join the space:
- Wing Stop
- Shake Shack
- Smoothie King
- Batteries Plus
Construction of the main structure appears complete, with interior work and exterior signage underway. Wing Stop appears to have claimed its space first.
Other Rite Aid Locations in Lansing Getting New Life
The former Rite Aid by Frandor isn’t the only one getting a makeover. Plans are underway for Pennsylvania-based convenience chain Sheetz to take over another former Rite Aid at the northeast corner of East Saginaw Street and Abbot Road.
Additionally, the former Rite Aid near the Costco in East Lansing has already turned into a Dollar Tree; half of the former location on East Grand River Avenue near Hagadorn is becoming RJ's Burgers & Ice Cream; and the Lansing location at the corner of Michigan and Pennsylvania Avenues has become a UM Health-Sparrow pharmacy/urgent care/occupational health services.

There are other former Rite Aid locations throughout the greater Lansing area. However, there's no word on what those might turn into in the future.
