Lansing's south side is seeing a change in its business landscape.

A New Business is Coming to South Lansing

If you've lived in Lansing at least six or more years, you probably remember the former Hooters restaurant location on E. Edgewood Boulevard. It's right there next to Texas Roadhouse and Celebration Cinema... and that building was finally bought!

Hooters was in that spot in Lansing for quite some time, 18 years, until it closed in July 2019. Since then, nearly six years now, that building has remained vacant.

At the end of the day, the move isn't terribly far, but it is quite the upgrade.

The current space is too small for the business and its staff. The new space will more than triple their current size, offering over 1,200 square feet.

When Will it Open?

At this time, there's no word yet on when the building will be refitted for the vet hospital's needs, but the owners have builders working on it now. The Houks, the couple that own the practice, plan on investing anywhere from $1 million to $2 million to transform the property into something that works for them.
