This Restaurant Only Has Three Locations Left in Michigan
After a recent closure, there are only three locations left in Michigan of one restaurant in particular.
Restaurant Closures in Michigan
Restaurants close all the time, but not all close as suddenly as this one. The Detroit Free Press reports that BD's Mongolian Grill in Dearborn has closed after decades in service.
On a Monday, staff were informed of the closure. And by the very next day, the restaurant had shut its doors. Here is the announcement made via Facebook.
With the closure of the Dearborn location, there are only three locations left in the Mitten State: Sterling Heights, Flint, and Canton.
BD's Mongolian Grill Closed Another Location
This isn't the first time in recent history that a 'Mongo' location has closed suddenly and after many years. The location in Okemos closed in January of 2018. Ann Arbor's location closed quickly in June of 2022. And the Novi location shut its doors in November of 2023.
The Dearborn location was a staple for many years. Being from the area, I remember spending a few high school nights grabbing dinner there with girlfriends. However, my nostalgia seems to be the only good thing about it.
Comments are very mixed about the recent closure. Some customers are very sad to see it go, saying it was a favorite place to grab dinner. Others are saying it makes sense because the cleanliness and the service in recent years has been more than lacking.
Regardless of the state of the location, it's sad to see a Michigan-based business close its doors. "BD's Mongolian Barbecue and Grill was founded in Ferndale by restaurateur Billy Downs in 1992."
