Recently, Love Food took a look at independent bakeries from all over the country and named the best one in each state.

Not only that, but they then ranked those bakeries as well. Turns out, the best bakery in Michigan is in the top half of the rankings for the country.

If you want to enjoy some of the food at the best bakery in Michigan, you'll want to head to Sister Pie in Detroit.

Sister Pie started in the kitchen of one of the owners' parents houses back in 2012 . Now, it has a brick-and-mortar location in Detroit at the corner of Kercheval and Parker in Detroit, the pre-orders for their Thanksgiving Pies sell out every single year (same as their pie making classes), and they routinely have lines down the block.

Don't let the name deceive you... Sister Pie makes more than just pie.

They make cookies, brownies, muffins, scones, and savory hand pies.

The pies are nothing to miss out on, by the way. One of my personal favorites, and an all-time-staple, is their salted maple pie. Not to mention, the Robert Redford cookies are to die for.

My favorite pie is one of their seasonal one's though, called the Banana Pete.

It has a sort of caramelized banana filling and a meringue top, and it's to die for. Too bad they only make it in March and September.
