  • Alcoholic Beverages: Champagne, wine, or any alcohol-based gifts cannot be mailed unless using specific licensed services outside USPS.
  • Fireworks: Holiday sparklers or novelty items like poppers or snappers.
  • Ammunition or Explosives: If gifting hunting gear, bullets, or anything similar, those cannot be mailed.
  • Gasoline-Powered Tools: Any holiday gift like chain saws, leaf blowers, or similar items with fuel or residual gas.
  • Lithium Batteries: Devices like drones or RC cars with large lithium batteries may be restricted; defective or oversized batteries are strictly prohibited.
  • Marijuana-Infused Gifts: Even in legal states like Michigan, edibles or any cannabis products cannot be mailed, whether medicinal or recreational.
  • Cremated Remains: If your gift idea involves keepsakes with ashes (e.g., memorial jewelry), special USPS services are required.
