I have to admit, I love having the self-checkouts at Costco nowadays! You can avoid the longer lines if you have little to no items. Or, you can just handle everything yourself at self-checkout.
The bad part about self-checkouts is that thefts are on the rise because of it.

Centrum women's vitamin gummies might seem like an odd choice, but considering their value and small size, they make sense for thieves.

Kirkland premium paper towels are a bit bulkier, which makes me wonder how people manage to swipe them unnoticed.

Dyson vacuum cleaner at the top of the list is truly astonishing. How do people walk out with such a large item without getting caught? It baffles me.

Honestly, I'm not too surprised by the list.

In my opinion, Costco needs to tighten its security measures. More surveillance cameras, better-trained staff, and perhaps a reevaluation of the self-checkout system might help curb these thefts. While self-checkouts are convenient, they also provide an easy opportunity for those looking to take advantage. It’s a delicate balance between customer convenience and preventing theft, but it's clear that Costco needs to find a better solution.
