These Popular Snacks Could Soon Be Banned In Michigan

Nothing hits better in the middle of the work day than a trip to the vending machine, or maybe something you packed. It's the moment of happiness you get when you get to sit back for a minute and eat your bag of chips you brought, apples, or whatever it is you bring regularly to work.

Could you imagine though, reaching for your favorite snack, only to realize that it could soon be banned here in Michigan? That is a possibility we currently face, as a new law could be passed.

Michigan: Say Goodbye To Your Favorite Snacks

There was a recent study released, that caused many Americans to step back in fear, as the products they consume, daily or weekly, could lead to cancer.

Of those affected by the recall are:

• Lucky Charms
• Froot Loops
• Skittles
• Nerds
• M&M's
• Swedish Fish
• Flamin' Hot Cheetos
• Doritos

Even Gatorade and other sports drinks are on possible notice to be banned, nationwide. 

But why do they face the possibility of being removed? The above snacks and even beverages, contain chemicals that have been proven to be harmful long term.

Most, if not all the products above contain some of the following chemicals:

• titanium dioxide
• potassium bromate
• brominated vegetable oil
• Red Dye No. 3
• propylparaben
• BHA
• Yellow 5
• Yellow 6
• Red 40
• and azodicarbonamide, or ADA

Before any bans do happen, the companies that are up to possibly be banned were encouraged to change the ingredients in their recipes.

At the current time, there are no laws or legislations up for proposal to cause any of the following to be banned.
