It's a bit puzzling, considering it's a classic spot for that quintessential senior pic or charming wedding shot, but here in Michigan, it's a definite no-go.

You're probably scratching your head alongside me, wondering why.

Why You Can't Do This In Michigan

The answer lies in Act No. 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, specifically section 324.82126 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, which states that individuals cannot walk, ride, drive, or be upon or along the right-of-way or yard of a railroad company operating its lines within the state.

But what's the consequence if you're caught red-handed?

Well, according to the law, it's not the end of the world. You won't be facing a major punishment, but still, it's not something you'd want on your record.

For those found guilty, there's a possibility of a 30-day stint in the slammer or a fine. It could be one or the other, or both, depending on the circumstances.

While the fine isn't exorbitant, it's not exactly chump change either. So, maybe think twice before risking it.
