Before you get ready to sauté up some mushrooms, you might want to check your fridge, as there is a mushroom recall currently hitting the state of Michigan that you should be aware of.

The recall was initiated this April, after concerns over a dangerous bacteria found on the product.

Major Mushroom Recall Hitting The State of Michigan

There are roughly two brands of mushrooms currently being recalled here in the state of Michigan, over monocytogenes, which is a dangerous bacteria that can have dangerous consequences.

The recall includes Daily Veggies and Enoki King, which are mushroom brands sold nationally.

At this time, there are no illnesses related to the product sold, but during routine testing, listeria, was found in packaging of the mushrooms.

The Dangers of Listeria Contamination:

Listeria is a dangerous virus, that is known to cause fever, nausea, diarrhea as well as muscle aches. It is especially dangerous to the young, elderly, or those with a lower immune system.

What To Do If You Have The Product:

If you have any of the products in your fridge, you should toss them immediately, or return them to the store of purchase for a full refund. If you have done any recent cooking with the mushrooms recently, you will want to wash surfaces you cooked on them with.
