
Another Restaurant Giant Is Filing For Bankruptcy in Michigan
In this day and age of instant convivence, people are turning away from a lot of the old normal that we had pre-covid. After the COVID-19 shut down, a lot of people got used to mobile ordering groceries, food and more.

Even more so, many people prefer dining in their own home, than having to leave and sit down in a restaurant now-a-days. Because of that, we've seen a decline in massive retail and restaurant brands across the country. Even the little guys have seen struggles through it all.
Another Restaurant Giant Is Filing For Bankruptcy in Michigan
With 305 stores left nationwide, and only three of them being left in Michigan, Hooters recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
At this time, the company has taken no responsive action after the filing, planning to keep business running as usual. But with that being said, Hooters had approximately 430 locations in 2018. That is a 25% decrease in the amount of stores the massive franchise had.
With the filing, the company did announce plans to sell 100 company owned restaurants to other franchisee, who have experience in the restaurant industry.
Previous Store Closures
The restaurant chain had closed 40 stores nationwide back in June of 2024, after finding under preforming stores. The closures came after the rise in an increase of food and other products, and a decrease of client interaction.
Many other stores have suffered, not just restaurants, JoAnne Fabric, as well as many other national retail chains have closed their stores for a lot of the same reasons.
