It's that time of year when you're probably thinking about a cool and delicious treat to take the hot summer days away. With temperatures soaring, who doesn't love some delicious ice cream to help cool you off? Hot days should always involve a tasty cool-down for you and the kids to help beat the heat.

Before you indulge, though, there are 17,000 tubs of a specific brand of ice cream being recalled in the state of Michigan due to concerns about plastic being inside the ice cream, as well as mislabeling on their ice cream tubs.

Why the Breyers Rocky Road Recall Matters

Breyers Ice Cream is recalling 17,000 tubs of its Rocky Road ice cream sold in Michigan, after the product was mistakenly packaged in Chocolate Truffle tubs, which do contain almonds. For those who may have a nut allergy, this could be severe.

Another recall was distributed for Rocky Road ice cream by Breyers as well in their 3-gallon tubs over concerns of plastics being inside the product. Consuming plastic can be dangerous for you and your digestive tract.

How to Identify the Affected Tubs

You should check your freezers for the 1.5-quart Ice Cream, which was labeled as Chocolate Truffle, with a Rocky Road Lid. The 3-gallon tubs of Rock Road and a few other flavors were previously recalled due to plastic contamination.

What to Do If You Bought Recalled Ice Cream

If you have any of the affected products, you are urged to discard of them or return them for a full refund.
