Michigan State just added some serious size to the game here, and we mean literally.

Spartans Land Massive Transfer

According to reports, the Spartans have landed 7-foot-2 center Anton Bonke out of Charlotte. He's listed at around 270 pounds and has experience and stops at Providence and Charlotte.

Bonke Brings Production to MSU

Last season at Charlotte, Bonke was on fire, and he produced for the team. He averaged about 10.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while also protecting the rim with about 1.5 blocks per night. That is a telling stat line, and he impacts both ends of the floor.

Why This Move Makes Sense

For Michigan State, the timing makes sense. The frontcourt needed help, especially with roster turnover, and Bonke gives them a plug-and-play big who can rebound and defend. He is reliable, physical, and consistent in the paint.

What definitely stands out here is the size factor. You don't casually find a 7-foot-2 player with experience behind him. That alone changes how teams have to go after MSU. He can alter shots, clean up misses, and give the Spartans a different look defensively.

A Classic Izzo-Type Addition

This also feels like a very Tom Izzo addition as well. Not too flashy. Not chasing the headlines. It is a tough, experienced piece that fills a need and helps balance the roster.

It is still early, and nothing seems to be official, official at this time. But it still holds. Michigan State just got a little bigger and physical heading into the season.
