Surprising Michigan College Legend Emerges As Aidan Hutchinson Replacement for the Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions fans had mixed emotions after a blowout Week 6 win against the Dallas Cowboys - a game that the NFL world called out the Lions for clowning their opponent and led FOX commentator Tom Brady to grade quarterback Jared Goff with an A+.
The other side of the emotional coin happened early in the 3rd Quarter when key defensive star Aidan Hutchinson went down with a gruesome leg injury that will likely mean 97 will be out for the rest of the 2024 season.

A surprising name as emerged as a potential replacement for the explosive and beloved Hutch. Or perhaps not surprising when you learn the background of current Las Vegas Raider Maxx Crosby.
Crosby, perhaps most importantly, is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, the MAC school in Ypsilanti with the same Metro Detroit area 'GRIT' feel.
Many commentators including Trent Dilfer on the Colin Cowherd Show namedropped Crosby as a perfect replacement for the Detroit Lions defense. Dilfer points out Crosby as a perfect choice as a great player on a not so great team who perhaps is looking for a different opportunity.
The NFL's trade window has not closed so options are available for Detroit and local media has picked up on the swelling of calls for a Crosby trade.

Additionally fueling the speculation of a Raiders-Lions trade is the fact that Las Vegas has had a slow start to the season winning just 2 of their first 6 games with frustrations coming from Crosby including shoving a coach immediately after coming off the field.
Crosby for his part posted on X his best wishes for Hutch's recovery and that the sideline shove was a 'love push.'
The Crosby to Lions scenario just passes the sniff test easily. The EMU grad would feel at home in Detroit and Maxx just feels like a Dan Campbell kind of guy.
