A fun family event got quite scary for a four-year-old Michigan girl who got hit by a golf cart driven by a fire department's dog.

This might sound like a tall tale but here's what happened.

On Friday night it was the Westland Blues, Brews, and Barbecue, described as the biggest summer bash in all of Western Wayne County.
People were enjoying blues music, Barbeque, and lots of ice-cold beer.
While all this fun was going on something very unexpected happened.
How Did A Dog Drive A Golf Cart Into A Girl?
According to Fox 2, Officials say the fire department's arson dog, Bella, was sitting on the seat of a golf cart the fire department was using for the event.
She jumped onto the floor and laid across the accelerator pedal.
"This caused the cart to lunge forward and the firefighters reacted quickly to try to steer the cart away from any people and toward the tents that the fire department were occupying, Unfortunately, before the firefighters could bring the cart to a stop and remove the key from the vehicle, it struck a 4-year-old girl, and the passenger side front tire ran over her left leg. -Westland Fire Department"
How Is The Little Girl Doing?
The little girl was a little shaken up which was understandable.
Paramedics assessed the child for injuries and thankfully no obvious injuries were visible.
The girl's mother refused further treatment or transport to an emergency room.
Bella the dog was not injured.
