It is tough to survive in the state of Michigan. Car insurance is outrageous, taxes are too high, groceries have never cost this much, and ever since the pandemic, rental housing is almost unattainable for a single person with minimal income. You may have heard about the story of the woman living inside the sign of a Family Fare Supermarket store in Midland, Michigan. The woman managed to live on top of the store for about a year. A worker discovered an extension cord that led to a small door to the rooftop sign of the Family Fare in Midland. When he realized someone was living there, he let the store manager know who then called the police.

It may have been wrong for the woman to live on top of the store without permission but I have to hand it to the Family Fare manager and the Midland police are being so respectful in trying to help the woman. You will hear in the video below how the police show such compassion for the woman and how they explain she would be able to get her things from the store manager. This is a great example of how police and citizens can do the right thing even in a bad situation.
