Uber Eats and Postmates were for a long time this mythical feature that I would hear my favorite YouTubers who lived in Los Angeles talk about, until a few years ago when it finally made its way to Grand Rapids. However, it was too good to be true, because while all my friends were freaking out about this newfound blessing, I was two miles outside the delivery circle. It was crushing.

Time has passed and Uber Eats has spread around Michigan, saving the day for lazy people who can't be bothered to go out and get their food. However, while those of us in the southern portion of Michigan are fortunate enough to have our stomachs covered, a large bite-sized chunk of Northern Michigan is in a food delivery dead zone.

The Uber Eats Deadzone

Recently I found myself on the Uber Eats website in the locations tab and was greeted by a pervasive list of towns and cities that Uber Eats delivered in each state. However, there wasn't any way to visualize where all these places really delivered to.

So I did the nerdy thing and created a custom Google Maps page, and discovered the delivery void we have here in Michigan.

Obviously, the northern parts of Michigan are less densely populated so that could explain the lack of deliverable cities, but the openness of the map can be pretty surprising.

Does Uber Eats, or another food delivery service, provide to your town? Let us know.
