So yesterday one of the coolest things ever happened to me: I had a Long Drink. Wait, sorry. That happens frequently. Oh right, the other thing that happened: Miles Teller, the actor known for his roles in 'Whiplash' and more recently, 'Top Gun: Maverick", was the one who served me said Long Drink. While this sounds like something from a movie, it is 100% real. Come along as I subtly brag and let you live vicariously through my journey.

Setting The Scene

The Finnish Long Drink is a "citrus soda with a premium liquor kick" that is in a category of its own - there is nothing else like it here in the States. The story goes that shortly after the Finnish Long Drink launched here in America, Miles was at a store in New York where the founders of the drink were doing a tasting event. He apparently loved it so much that he started having it shipped across the country. Once Long Drink heard that he was a fan, they went into business together and the rest is history.

Why Was 'Rooster' Here?

Miles and Long Drink are on a promo tour for the drink - not that Michigan isn't already very aware of the drink. The drink has spread like wildfire, just check out the distribution map above. He has made multiple stops across Michigan at bars that sell the drink, including the SpeakEz in Grand Rapids, Crunchy's in East Lansing, and The Brown Jug in Ann Arbor.

I met Miles at Crunchy's in EL. He was super cool and served everyone in the bar (long drink of course, on the house). He even said he liked my camera! The bar reached capacity at 11:30 (he was scheduled to come at 3:30), so the line outside was insane. He made time for everyone, and the staff for both The Long Drink and Crunchy's were pros about it all.

Thanks for swinging through Miles and Co. I love the drink so much, it's accidentally become part of my personality (not sponsored, but if you wanna send me a hat my DMs are open).
