One of the owners, Mark Johnson, acknowledges the difficulties in the industry the past few years due to oversupply and the pandemic. He tells Crain's,

When there are shortages, prices go up. When prices go up, farmers plant more and prices go down. We made a big investment anticipating high profits for a while to pay off the investment, and that didn’t happen.

While the hope had been to find a buyer for MI Local Hops within the state, owners will be listing the business outside of Michigan next month.

Once a listing and price are posted we'll share here.
