America’s Best Restaurants Show Shoots At Grand Rapids Eatery
A Grand Rapids restaurant is getting national attention!
America's Best Restaurants travels across the country looking for - you guessed it, America's best restaurants! The Internet food show highlights these stellar independent eateries and help them tell their stories.

They pour through submissions and then do their research on each restaurant, combing through social media and reviews. Another West Michigan eatery the show has visited is Hamburger Mikey in Muskegon.
According to Fox 17, America's Best Restaurants visited southern soul food eatery The Candied Yam in Grand Rapids this week .
Owner Jessica Ann Tyson opened the original The Candied Yam Delightful Southern Cuisine at 2305 44th St. SE in the Breton Meadows Plaza in 2017.
Not too long ago, Tyson opened a second Candied Yam location at 932 S. Division Ave.
At both restaurants you'll find scratch-made soul food like fried chicken, catfish, perch, meatloaf, wings, porkchops, ribs, green beans, mashed potatoes, collared greens, cornbread, mac and cheese - and candied yams, of course.

Danyel Detomo, a host of America's Best Restaurants talked about Tyson with Fox 17, complimenting not only her cooking, but her commitment to community:
