Health Officials Searching for Two Mosquito Species in Michigan

Asian tiger mosquitoes capable of transmitting the Zika virus have been found for the first time in Michigan, though state health officlals say there is no cause for alarm.
There have been no transmissions of the virus in Michigan or the Midwest this year. Officials are urging people to take precautions to protect themselves.
The Asian tiger mosquito, with a silvery dorsal stripe and white banded legs, is an "aggressive biter," according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
