The Grand Ledge Comets knew they had to make something happen if they wanted to avoid ending their season with a loss.

And they did just that, Grand Ledge scored five runs in the seventh inning as it rallied to a 7-3 victory over rival Holt in Wednesday's Diamond Classic championship game at Cooley Law School Stadium.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the win gave the Comets their third straight Diamond Classic title and seventh in eight years.

Grand Ledge coach Pat O'Keefe said, "any time that you're down and you're playing such a quality opponent and then to come back and win, those are thrilling."
