According to the Lansing State Journal, auto parts supplier Gestamp will invest roughly $105 million to expand its operations in Mason.

The company will build a 150,000 square foot facility to house the hot stamping and laser welding of car door parts, said Jeff Wilson, president and CEO of Gestamp's North America and Asia divisions.

The investment will create roughly 40 jobs and help retain 437.  Gestamp supplies parts for car doors and bumpers to Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co. and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

The company, which operates a roughly 550,000 square foot facility in Mason, accounts for 25% of the city's tax base.
