General Motors Co. is planning to add as many as 1,750 jobs at its technical center in Warren and invest an additional $800 million in Michigan in the coming years.

Michael Finney, president and CEO of the Michigan Economic Development, said Gm is bringing 1,750 jobs to Michigan as part of a consolidation of its North American engineering operations.

According to the state, GM plans to add locations throughout Michigan to support the development of new vehicle platforms and programs.

Since 2009, GM has added or retained 33,000 jobs and has invested up to $2.8 billion under the agreement in Michigan.  Here's more from the Lansing State Journal.
