Troy-based Flagstar Bank is acquiring 52 Wells Fargo Bank branches in four states, including 14 branches in the Upper Peninsula.

The branches are among those the beleaguered Wells Fargo will cut as part of its plan to leave the retail banking business in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Four branches in northern Wisconsin are part of the sale to Flagstar, too, leaving 48 Wells Fargo branches in Wisconsin once the sale closes.

The Michigan branches include locations in Marquette, Escanaba, Menominee, Munising, Houghton and Ishpeming.  Here's more from the Detroit Free Press.
