MICHIGAN ROADSIDE ATTRACTION: Fantasy Forest, Battle Creek
Here’s a pretty cool Michigan roadside attraction for you to check out.
It’s the Fantasy Forest, located within Leila Arboretum in Battle Creek. It’s an excellent example of making lemonade out of lemons…in other words, something wonderful came from something destructive.
In the park, there was a grove of trees that had been severely damaged by insects: namely, the Emerald Ash Borer. Thus was born the Fantasy Forest Festival, an event that was created in 2015 that brought sculptors to salvage the trees. They carved unique figures & figurines out of the tree trunks: castles, gnomes, mythical beasts, heroes, wizards, animals, dragons, genies, and more.
This attraction is absolutely FREE to visit, with places to have picnics.
Located at 922-970 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, you should add this roadside stop to your Michigan roadtrip…great photo ops, as you can see in the pictures below!
