MUSIC CONCERT FEATURING SISTER HAZEL COMING TO SAINT JOHNS IN JUNE

MAY 22, 2019 SAINT JOHNS, MI – Saint Johns will have a grand kick-off to summer with a rock concert at Uncle John’s Cider Mill in support of Saint John’s Soap Box Derby. The concert will feature platinum rock band, Sister Hazel, who has been noted as, “One of the Top 100 Most Influential Independent Performers of the last 15 years" by Performing Songwriter Magazine. Their songs including, ‘Lighter In The Dark’ and ‘All For You’ have been ranked on top billboard charts such as Top Country Album Charts, and Billboards Independent Albums Chart among others.

Tony Salazar of Salazar Entertainment and Red Rocket Production is hosting the event. Salazar on why he is producing the concert, “As a kid growing up in St. Johns, I was involved with the Soap Box Derby. The last derby race was held in 1976. I was recently approached with the idea of developing an event that will bring greater awareness to and raise support for the restored Soap Box Derby.”

He continued, “The importance of the Soap Box Derby is to bring the community together in support of this family event in the center of the Business District of St. Johns, Michigan. St Johns is the only city hosting the Soap Box Derby for the State of Michigan and will be sending two winners to Akron Ohio to compete in the National Soap Box Derby Championship in July.”

Also performing will be nationally known Michigan native Sadie Bass, and local bands Blues 202, Others Eyes, and Wing It.

The concert will be held at Uncle John’s Cider Mill, Saint Johns, MI on June 15, 2019, from 3PM until 11PM. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite and at Knob Hill Tavern in Saint Johns, Michigan.

Proceeds from the concert will go to Saint John’s Soap Box Derby, BSA Troop 70, Saint John’s VFW Post 4113, and an animal rescue organization. For more information visit the Facebook Page, St. John’s Soap Box Derby Concert.
