If you're like most people, you've probably been checking your bank account or your mailbox to see if you have received your second stimulus yet.

I've talked with a few of my friends who said they received their stimulus cash on New Year's Day. Talk about a nice way to start the new year!

On the other hand, many have not received their stimulus money and are wondering when they will receive their payment from the IRS.

If you haven't received it yet, the Internal Revenue Service is telling taxpayers don't call us and don't call your bank.

According to the Detroit Free Press, if you're worried and you're waiting for your money, your best bet is to visit the IRS.gov website.

At this point, most people shouldn't worry so much, as the second stimulus money only began rolling out last week. You still have time to see that cash. Just keep checking your mailbox and be patient.

The IRS said on Monday, people could begin to check the status of both their first and second payments by using the Get My Payment tool, available in English and Spanish at IRS.gov. (Detroit Free Press)

Regarding bank accounts:

Most people will see this latest round of stimulus money via direct deposit into their bank accounts. The direct deposit is being made to those who have valid routing and account information on file.

If you haven't received your full payment by the time you file your 2020 tax return, you may claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your tax return.
