Well, it is the first full weekend in June and that means that Owosso will once again Celebrate the Curwood Festival, an event that has been around since the late 70's.  For those of us who grew up in Owosso, it is a great time to go back home and see old friends and celebrate Curwood days.

Some of the events scheduled this year , starting Thursday June 6th,

Curwood Castle will open at 1pm and remain open until dusk.  if you have never been inside the castle, it is a 'must see'during the festival.  It is where writer James Oliver Curwood did his writing.  Carnival rides also start running on Thursday and go until Sunday.

Friday Arts @ Crafts at the Castle open.  at 7pm its the Kids in Curwood Country parade.

Saturday has 2 of my favorite events.  First is the pancake breakfast at the Owosso Middle School, put on by the local  Rotary group, and at 2pm is the famous Heritatge Parade and it looks like crowd favorite Scotsville Clown Band will be back this year.  They are a HUGE crowd favorite.

If you haven't been to Owosso yet or if its been awhile, I invite you to stop and enjoy my hometown.   Lots to see, do, drink and eat.

Curwood Festival in Owosso runs Thursday through Sunday.
