A proposed $4 million Costco Warehouse Corp. complex appeared to get a thumbs up from many of the residents who packed a meeting Thursday at the Meridian Township hall.

Several residents said they're looking forward to the Costco planned for what was formerly the north side of the township but is technically in East Lansing.

Costco officials alerted area property owners on May 18 that they were seeking to rezone 64.7 acres located east of what now is the Fiesta Charra Mexican Restaurant.  The Costco store would be located at 5800 Park Lake Road, just south of Saginaw Street.

The retail warehouse, which like other Costcos would require shoppers to become members, also would include a tire center and a free standing fueling facility. A local Costco store would create 200 to 300 Jobs.  Let's read more information from the Lansing State Journal.
