According to the Lansing State Journal, the city of Lansing will stop collecting trash from bags left curbside, beginning in 2020.

Currently, Lansing residents may choose between using wheeled trash carts or simply purchasing city issued trash bags to leave at curbside.

Under the new policy, trash carts will be required for households using Capital Area Recycling and Trash.

The city currently charges $48 every three months for trash service using a 32 gallon trash bin, the smallest available size.  The model holds two to three kitchen sized trash bags.
