MICHIGAN SECRET HIDEAWAY: Charity Island, Saginaw Bay
Smack dab in the middle of Saginaw Bay next to the thumb lies Charity Island....there are a lot of Michiganders who don't know about this.
So what does this tiny island offer someone who wants to get away and NOT be bothered? Peace & quiet. No noisy cars, trucks, or planes...no construction noises...no neighbors fighting...no annoying dogs barking...just the quiet sounds of the island: wind, leaves, waves, seagulls (& other birds) and a few critters. BEAUTIFUL!
Charity Island only has ONE establishment: the Charity Island Lodge & lighthouse. That's it. No other buildings or businesses. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
But the rest of the island is desolate with your pick of beaches to do.....whatever.
If ya wanna go, you can go by boat; there's an inland docking area that goes way into the island. Or, there is an adventure/dinner cruise available if you don't own your own boat.
WANNA GO? Check out the details for yourself at charityisland.net.
