Henry Cavill Heads to Netflix for ‘The Witcher’ Saga
Sometimes fan-casting dreams really do come true — like with Henry Cavill and The Witcher. Over the last several weeks, the erstwhile Man of Steel has been depicted as the lead character of the fantasy saga in numerous pieces of fan art circulating online. Even Cavill himself got into the idea, sharing some fan art on his own Instagram. Whatever internet sorcery was at play seemed to have worked because Cavill has officially signed on to play the lead role in Netflix’s series adaptation of the Witcher saga.

Hulu Renews ‘Castle Rock’ for Another Season of Stephen King Scares
It’s not exactly surprising news, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome: Hulu has officially renewed Castle Rock for a second season. The series, from executive producer J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot, will continue to expand this particular little corner of Stephen King’s universe in Season 2, with new characters and a new story set in and around the fictional, eponymous Maine town.
Marvel Still Using James Gunn’s ‘Guardians 3’ Script as Other Major Studios Line Up to Hire Him
Earlier today, a rumor began circulating about Marvel’s plans to toss out James Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The filmmaker was in the midst of writing the screenplay when he was recently fired for a series of old, offensive tweets, which were published to his personal Twitter account before he ever made the first Guardians film. But according to a new report, not only is Marvel still using Gunn’s screenplay for Guardians 3, they might not be entirely done with the director after all.

‘The Last Jedi’ Alternate Scene Gives Phasma and Finn a Different Showdown
Even those who adored Rian Johnson’s Star Wars sequel (like us) can probably agree that at least one thing was a little lacking: Captain Phasma. Although we were excited for the return of Gwendoline Christie’s super shiny and ultra-intimidating trooper, she didn’t have a whole lot to do in The Last Jedi. Given the focus of Johnson’s story, that’s understandable, but we would’ve liked to see just a teeny bit more from Christie’s antagonist. Thanks to this alternate scene, now we can.
Man Arrested for Stealing Frances McDormand’s Oscar Last Night
After delivering the acceptance speech of the night (and inspiring everyone to frantically Google “inclusion rider”), Frances McDormand was tragically separated from her Best Actress Oscar when a man — because of course it was a man — had the nerve to steal it from her at the Governors Awards ball. Thankfully, the separation was brief, as McDormand and her little golden friend were reunited, at which point they enjoyed a post-Oscars trip to In-N-Out burger. Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested for felony grand theft.
