Jeff Daniels left Michigan and his hometown of Chelsea back in the mid-70s because he wasn't sure he could make it in the family lumber business.

In an interview with the Lansing State Journal, Daniels shared thoughts about leaving Michigan and then returning for good to live and raise his family, and about his upcoming tour of small towns in Michigan.

Daniels will be in Grand Ledge on Aug. 15 for the third stop on a 14-city tour.  A-list Jeff Daniels has thrived in New York and Hollywood, and yet happily lives right here in beautiful Michigan.

After leaving Central Michigan University in 1976, Daniels left for New York and a few years later learned he could make a living as an actor.  Here's the complete story, courtesy of the Lansing State Journal.
