Abraham Lincoln was and still is my all time favorite president of the United States. I 've read so many books about our 16th president and have written many book reports back in my school days.

History.com tells us:

Abraham Lincoln,  a self-taught lawyer, legislator and vocal opponent of slavery, was elected 16th president of the United States in November 1860, shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War.

Speaking of president Abraham Lincoln, a statue has been recently approved for Bronson Park in Kalamazoo.

The yet to be seen Abraham Lincoln statue will honor his visit to Kalamazoo back in 1856.

According to mlive.com:

In the fall of 2012, community leaders came together and created a steering committee to explore how best to commemorate Lincoln’s Kalamazoo visit, and created the nonprofit corporation.

Once the statue is finished, it will be delivered to Bronson Park in Kalamazoo on August 1st, 2023. There will be a special dedication that day which will match the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's visit back in 1856.

This is going to be a very special dedication once the statue arrives in 2023. Until then, we will patiently await its arrival.

By the way, I mentioned that I wrote many book reports about president Abraham Lincoln back in my school days.
