Ypsilanti Motorists mourn Loss
Well , it was a sad day for motorists who use a busy intersection in Ypsilanti township, a wild turkey that considered that area home, passed away after being hit by a car.
The wild turkey, known as Whittaker was accidentally hit on July 3rd. According to the Humane Socity of Huron Valley he had to be put to sleep due to the serious injuries he suffered.
Whittaker gained notoriety for strutting in the street and stopping traffic in the community which is around 30 miles south west of Detroit. This bird had avoided numerous attempts to capture him and relocate him to a safer area.
Money was raised for Whittaker so he could be remembered with an engraved brick, and it looks like he also had a facebook page.
So, in closing….Whittaker R.I.P
